Each other and one another express reciprocal relationships. They differ from reflexives, where each participant acts on themselves.
Use each other when the action goes in both directions between people. Use themselves when each person acts on their own self. Each other and one another often overlap in modern usage; do not treat a strict two-versus-many distinction as a universal rule.
