Apposition gives another name for a noun phrase. Noun complements express its content, often in a that-clause.
Apposition renames the same person or thing: my cousin, a nurse. A noun complement gives the content of an idea, belief or possibility rather than renaming it. Use commas around supplementary apposition; essential identifying information may not need them.
