Finite clauses contain tense or a modal; non-finite clauses use infinitives, -ing or participles without independently expressing finite tense.
A finite clause has a tense-marked verb or a modal. A non-finite clause uses an infinitive or participle without independent tense, though context supplies its time. Non-finite does not mean meaningless or necessarily without an understood subject.

Finite clause-ൽ tense അല്ലെങ്കിൽ modal കാണാം. To-infinitive/participle clause സ്വതന്ത്രമായി tense കാണിക്കുന്നില്ല; സമയം context-ൽ നിന്ന് മനസ്സിലാകും. Non-finite ഭാഗത്തിനും ആരാണ് ചെയ്യുന്നത് എന്ന ബന്ധമുണ്ടാകും.
