LESSON 124 · PREPOSITIONS
Understanding the topic · English notes
A preposition can remain at the end of many questions and relative clauses. Fronting it with whom or which is often more formal.
Ending a question or relative clause with a preposition is often natural English. A more formal version places it before whom/which. Do not move the particle of a phrasal verb as though it were an ordinary preposition.

Preposition അവസാനം വരുന്നത് പല ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് ഘടനകളിലും ശരിയാണ്.
Question-ന്റെയോ relative clause-ന്റെയോ അവസാനം preposition വരുന്നത് തെറ്റല്ല. Formal രീതിയിൽ whom/which-ന് മുമ്പിലേക്ക് മാറ്റാം. Phrasal verb-ന്റെ particle ഇതേ രീതിയിൽ മാറ്റാനാവില്ല.
Sentence pattern · പ്രയോഗരീതി
Who did you speak to? To whom did you speak?
Remember: Do not place a preposition directly before relative that.
