LESSON 114 · PREPOSITIONS

Understanding the topic · English notes

Movement prepositions express destinations, paths and transitions: to, into, onto, through, across, along and towards have different spatial meanings.

Choose the preposition for the path you mean: into crosses a boundary inward; across goes from one side to another; through passes within something. To names a destination, while towards gives direction without guaranteeing arrival.

Choose the preposition for the path you mean: into crosses a boundary inward; across goes from one side to another; through passes within something. To names a destination, while towards gives direction without guaranteeing arrival.
