Zero conditional ഉപയോഗിച്ച് ഒരു പതിവ് പറയാം
ഒരു സാഹചര്യം ഉണ്ടായാൽ സാധാരണ എന്താണ് നടക്കുന്നത്? If + present simple, present simple എന്ന രൂപം ഉപയോഗിക്കാം. “If the kettle boils, it switches off automatically.” — വെള്ളം തിളച്ചാൽ ആ കെറ്റിൽ സ്വയം ഓഫ് ആകും. “If I take the early bus, I get to work before nine.” — നേരത്തെയുള്ള ബസിൽ പോയാൽ ഞാൻ ഒമ്പതിന് മുമ്പ് ജോലിസ്ഥലത്തെത്താറുണ്ട്.
ഇവിടെ ഒരു യാത്രയെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള പ്രവചനം ആവശ്യമില്ല. നിങ്ങൾ കണ്ടുവരുന്ന ഒരു പതിവാണ് പറയുന്നത്. “When I take the early bus, I get there before nine” എന്നും ഈ ആവർത്തിക്കുന്ന സാഹചര്യത്തിൽ പറയാം.
First conditional ഉപയോഗിച്ച് ഒരു സാധ്യതയും ഫലവും പറയാം
“If it rains this evening, we’ll eat indoors.” — ഇന്ന് വൈകുന്നേരം മഴ പെയ്താൽ ഞങ്ങൾ അകത്തിരുന്ന് ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കും. മഴ പെയ്യുമോ എന്ന് ഉറപ്പില്ല. അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചാൽ എന്ത് ചെയ്യും എന്ന് പറയുകയാണ്. സാധാരണ രൂപം if + present simple, will + base verb.
“If the bus is late, I’ll call you.” — ബസ് വൈകിയാൽ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ വിളിക്കും. ഈ pattern ൽ if നു പിന്നാലെ “the bus is late” എന്നാണ്. “If the bus will be late” എന്ന രൂപം ഈ ഉദാഹരണത്തിന് വേണ്ട.
ഫലത്തിൽ will മാത്രമല്ല
“If you finish early, you can join us for tea.” — നേരത്തേ തീർന്നാൽ ഞങ്ങളോടൊപ്പം ചായ കുടിക്കാൻ വരാം. “If you get lost, call me.” — വഴി തെറ്റിയാൽ എന്നെ വിളിക്കൂ. ഒരു നിർദേശം നൽകുമ്പോൾ call me എന്ന imperative ഉം ഉപയോഗിക്കാം.
Clause ക്രമം മാറ്റാം. “I’ll call you if the bus is late.” If clause ആദ്യം വരുമ്പോൾ സാധാരണ comma ഇടും. അത് അവസാനം വരുമ്പോൾ സാധാരണ comma വേണ്ട.

If ഉം when ഉം ഒരേ അർത്ഥമാണോ? “If I get home early” എന്നതിൽ നേരത്തേ എത്തുമോ എന്നത് തുറന്ന സാധ്യതയാണ്. “When I get home” എന്നതിൽ എത്തുന്ന സമയത്തേക്കാണ് ശ്രദ്ധ.
