Statements and declarative sentences – Malayalam Notes

Learn statements and declarative sentences with English and Malayalam notes, natural examples, phrasal verbs and practice answers.

LESSON 135 · SENTENCES AND AGREEMENT

Understanding the topic · English notes

Declarative clauses usually make statements using subject before verb. Their communicative function can change with context, intonation or punctuation.

A declarative normally puts the subject before the finite verb. It can be positive or negative and still be a statement. In conversation, statement word order with rising intonation can sometimes function as a checking question.
