Everyone, somebody, each and similar indefinite forms normally take singular agreement in standard English. Singular they may still refer back to the person.
Everyone and someone normally use a singular verb, even though everyone refers to a whole group. Each of + plural noun also normally takes a singular main verb. A later singular they does not change the initial agreement.
