Manner adverbs describe how an action happens. Many add -ly; some have irregular forms such as well, and others share an adjective form.
Manner adverbs tell us how an action is performed. Many are formed with -ly, but good becomes well, and fast stays fast. Hard and hardly have different meanings; do not add -ly mechanically to every adjective.
