Adjective order – Malayalam Notes

Learn adjective order with English and Malayalam notes, natural examples, phrasal verbs and practice answers.

LESSON 040 · ADJECTIVES

Understanding the topic · English notes

Several adjectives usually follow a conventional order: opinion, size, age, shape, colour, origin, material, purpose. Natural phrases seldom use every category.

Adjective order reflects familiar combinations, not a command to stack many descriptions. Opinion commonly comes before physical description; colour usually precedes material. Keep only the details needed to identify the item.

Sentence pattern · പ്രയോഗരീതി

Remember: A noun used as a classifier usually stays close to the head noun.

Why this pattern works
