Understanding the topic · English notes
Demonstrative determiners identify nouns by number and relative distance. They agree with the following countable noun.
The determiner and noun must agree in number: this bag, these bags. Use that/those for a more distant reference. Do not combine a demonstrative with a/an in the same ordinary noun phrase.

These, those എന്നിവയ്ക്ക് ശേഷം plural noun ഉപയോഗിക്കണം.
This, that എന്നിവയ്ക്ക് singular noun-ഉം these, those എന്നിവയ്ക്ക് plural noun-ഉം വേണം. This a bag എന്ന് പറയരുത്; this bag എന്നാണ് ശരി.

Remember: This rice is singular because rice is uncountable.
