Possessive determiners identify a noun through its possessor. They replace articles in the determiner position.
Choose the possessive from the owner, not from the object being owned. Her brother uses her because the owner is female. A possessive normally replaces an article: my bag, not the my bag.

My, her, our തുടങ്ങിയവയ്ക്കൊപ്പം സാധാരണയായി the ചേർക്കേണ്ട.
ഉടമ ആരാണെന്ന് നോക്കി my, his, her തുടങ്ങിയവ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കണം. Her brother എന്നതിൽ brother പുരുഷനായാലും her സൂചിപ്പിക്കുന്നത് ഉടമയെയാണ്. My-ക്കൊപ്പം the ചേർക്കേണ്ടതില്ല.
