LESSON 015 · NOUNS
Understanding the topic · English notes
Compound nouns combine words into one naming unit. Their spacing and plural forms depend on the established expression.
A compound noun names one thing using two or more parts. It may be written as one word, two words or with a hyphen; check the established spelling. Usually the main noun takes the plural, as in bus stops, but expressions such as mothers-in-law have a different pattern.
