LESSON 236 · SPOKEN AND FORMAL GRAMMAR
Understanding the topic · English notes
Formal and informal English differ in vocabulary, contractions, clause packaging and preferred patterns. Choose forms for the audience rather than treating formality as correctness.
Choose language for the audience and purpose. Informal English often uses contractions and common phrasal verbs; formal English may choose a single-word alternative. Neither style is inherently better, and many phrasal verbs are suitable in professional writing.

സന്ദർഭത്തിനനുസരിച്ച് formal/informal ഭാഷ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുക. Call off-ന് cancel എന്ന formal പകരം വരാം. Phrasal verbs എല്ലാം ഔദ്യോഗിക എഴുത്തിൽ തെറ്റാണെന്ന് കരുതരുത്; ഉപയോഗസന്ദർഭമാണ് നിർണ്ണായകം.
Sentence pattern · പ്രയോഗരീതി

Remember: Natural spoken grammar can be correct even when unsuitable for a formal notice.
