LESSON 197 · ADVANCED STRUCTURES
Understanding the topic · English notes
Fronted negative or restrictive expressions can trigger auxiliary-subject inversion. Without an existing auxiliary, add do-support in the required tense.
Fronting never, rarely or not until can trigger auxiliary-subject inversion. If there is no auxiliary, add do/does/did. With only after or not until, invert the main clause, not the clause inside the opening phrase.

Negative അല്ലെങ്കിൽ restrictive പ്രയോഗം മുന്നിൽ വന്നാൽ inversion ആവശ്യമായേക്കാം.

Sentence pattern · പ്രയോഗരീതി

Remember: Only + subject does not itself trigger this inversion: only Anu came.
