Concrete nouns refer to things perceived through the senses. Abstract nouns name qualities, states, feelings or ideas.
Concrete nouns include objects and substances, even when they are not countable. Abstract nouns include qualities such as patience and feelings such as relief. This distinction is different from countability: furniture is concrete but usually uncountable, while an idea can be counted.
